Hull Pride is an LGBTQIA+ non-profit 501(c)(3) community organization based in Hull, Massachusetts.  Our stated mission is “to strengthen local community connections through events and outreach that promote diversity, acceptance, and inclusion. Illustrative activities include: Hull Gay Pride Celebration,  scholarships for graduating high school seniors, and seasonal celebrations.”

You can reach us at hullpridema@gmail.com.

Our board leadership is as follows:

Dan Ambrose (he/him),
Co-President

Dan is an Interior Designer and recent transplant from Ohio. Dan and his husband David met in 1997 and were married on their 20th anniversary! After discovering Hull in 2019 they immediately fell in love with the location. Dan brings years of board and event planning experience for multiple non-profits in the Columbus area. He loves cooking for a crowd, gardening, spending time at the beach, and spoiling their two Shih Tzus Bruiser and Buster. He is looking forward to becoming more involved in the community and giving back to the people of Hull.

Scott Helms (he/him),
Co-President

Scott has lived in Hull since 2009.  Originally from North Carolina, he’s lived all over the East Coast and in New England since 1997.   He and his husband, Tim Reynolds, have been together since 1994 and married in 2014.   They found this little beach town, unaware of its large LBGTQ population, but fell in love with its beauty and beaches.

Suzy Cosgrove (she/her), Secretary

Suzy is a new member of Hull Pride. She (and her adorable ginger cat) moved to Hull in March 2022 after bouncing around the Boston area and abroad for years. Suzy moved to Hull to stay close to family and the surf, and found a wonderful community in addition to the waves. When she's not producing (her full time gig), you can find her painting at South Shore Arts Center, on stage in a local play, or somewhere in the surf at Nantasket.

Marc Cohn (he/him), Treasurer

Marc joined Hull Pride 4 years ago, shortly after moving to Hull with his partner and two very energetic dogs. Since joining the HP Board, Marc has worn some interesting hats including event decorations and Treasurer. When not volunteering or working, Marc enjoys travelling, cooking, sports, and carpentry.

Karen Kovach (she/her)

Karen has been actively involved in Hull Pride since moving to Hull in 2017. She served as the Board's secretary from 2019-2022 before becoming co-president. A writer, editor, and educator by trade, she’s a dancer and singer at heart.

Nancy Monroe (she/her)

Nancy is a career firefighter/EMT, and a resident of Hull. Nancy and her wife Deborah are two of the founding members of Hull Pride, and are thrilled to have seen its growth in the community.

Jason McCann (he/him)

Jason is a founding member of Hull Pride. Jason is on the Select Board for the Town of Hull and lives in Hull Village with his husband Chad, also a board member, and has lived in Hull since 2011. Jason loves integrating his work in Hull Pride with other Hull community initiatives including the Friends of Nantasket Beach and the Save The Ferry campaign.

Chad Wolfe (he/him)

Chad is another founding member of the Hull Pride group. Having grown up in Hull (and a proud graduate of Hull High School), Chad returned to live in Hull with his husband Jason in 2011. Chad is an avid rower, an active member of the Hull Yacht Club and a board member for the Hull Lifesaving Museum.

Bob Pahl (he/him)

Bob is a founding member of Hull pride and lives in the village with his husband Mike. Bob is an active neighborhood advocate and is the president of the Hull Village Association as well as a Co-Chair of the Historic District in Hull Village. He is an architect who often gives tours of the village.

Mike Myers (he/him)

Mike is a Hull Pride founding member, married to Bob Pahl, both coming to Hull in 2011 and calling it home ever since.  An occasional co-DJ with Scott Helms, Mike loves karaoke and is a classically trained pianist who continues his studies today.  Mike is a physician leading one of the largest primary care groups in New Jersey and lives there part-time and in Massachusetts.

David Skeens (he/him)

David moved to Massachusetts from Columbus, Ohio in 2019 to be Head of Brand Voice for Talbots clothing stores, headquartered in Hingham. He and his husband, Dan (also a new board member!), moved to Hull in 2020 for the location near the beach and was excited to discover a thriving gay community. He brings over 20 years of marketing experience with global brands such as Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret.
